This was the first day of Shanghai and the first official day of our trip. When we woke up we walked to the Bund which is a boardwalk on the side of the river. There were lots of big shipping boats on the river it was a miracle none of them crashed into each other. The walk along the bund was cold so after an hour or so we found a coffee shop and stopped there for tea and hot chocolate. After that we wandered around the city more until it was lunch time. For lunch we found a restaurant that said they had xiao long bao (soup dumplings) but theirs were small and not very tasty compared the others we had the day before at a local chain called Xiao Yang's. After lunch we explored a nearby mall that Sydney wanted to check out. There was an Alienware store in the mall and I got to check it out. The memes hold true when it comes to alienware because the computers were all overpriced for what you get even though they were all amazing computers. My mom found a store that sold better xiao long bao then the restaurant we went to for lunch so we stopped and ate there for a quick snack. Then after we were full we walked to Tian Zi Fang which is a collection of older buildings and alleys that were all renovated to be an open air market. We found a place that sells 10 flavors of grilled frogs After that we began walking back to the hotel and were surprised to see that we could see the lights on the building in Pudong because the weather and pollution was so bad when we flew in we couldn't see them. When we got to the hotel we took a small break then went to dinner at a restaurant a few blocks away from the hotel and then we went back to the hotel and went to bed.
