3rd day in Shanghai

Today was the only sunny day we've had so far ! We did a lot of walking around because it wasn't too cold outside. Nick's phone doesn't work here so part of the day was spent trying to find him a cheap phone that would work. We took the subway over to a part of town that we had never been to before in order for him to find a phone. We ended up wandering into the expat neighborhood and had a snack at a little cafe there. The cafe offered a large variety of food and drink but when it came down to it they only had a select few items available. So we got french fries there. Strangely, the restaurant was also a tanning parlor? After we ate we found Nicks phone store but they didn't have what he was looking for so we left. We headed down to downtown PuDong where all the tall buildings and the Pearl tower are. We got tickets to go to the top of the 2nd tallest building in the world. Mom even went to the top even though she's deathly afraid of heights. To get to the top of the building you have to ride a high speed elevator that travels at like 50 miles per hour I think. After we came down we had lunch then headed back to the bund. Dad wanted to take a river cruise so we found a ticket office and got tickets. Mom got hungry again so we went to have dinner before we got on the boat. We then took the river cruise that lasted about 50 minutes then went home.
